  • SYP launches workshops to improve the TVET system in Palestine

The Skilled Young Palestine project organised a series of workshops over the summer, targeted at improving the TVET system and building capacities of its actors in Palestine. The workshops are part of a series of capacity-building activities, organised by Enabel in cooperation with local and international experts in the field. The capacity building has to result in an institutionalized approach and implementation of work-based learning, that will sustain after the project’s lifetime.

At the end of July, the Enabel team in the West-bank and Gaza strip organized a 3-day workshop on the Action-Oriented Learning Approach for the partners of the SYP projects. Among the participants were TVET Centres, Private Sector Umbrella Organisations and their members. A number of staff and trainers from the Ministry of Labour were present as well to ensure institutionalisation. The workshop focused on how to implement the Action-Oriented Learning approach and Complex Task approach, in preparation of the start of their training programs.

In August, Education for Employment and People1st International organised different activities for the partners of SYP. On the agenda: the functioning of the skills development fund, the successful public-private partnership, gender equality and social inclusion, the quality assurance of the partnership, and using labour market information.
Also in August, trainers and staff from the Ministry of Labour were trained on the existing work-based learning manual and identified areas of improvement and modernization.
