The Regeneration of Historic Centers in Local Government Units (RHC) project finished the rehabilitation of the Abd Al Rahim Abu Hijleh historic building in Deir Istiya. The building will be used as a guesthouse and a cafeteria for Deir Istiya’s citizens and guests.

The rehabilitation works in Deir Istiya mark the finalization of the first phase of the RHC project, which consisted of rehabilitating the 5 Historic Centers of Abud, Bani Zeid Al Gharbiya, Bani Na’im, ‘Asira Al Shamaliya and Deir Istiya.

The next phase of the project will consist of supporting the exploitation of the 5 rehabilitated buildings and starting the rehabilitation of 7 new historic centers in the beginning of 2018.

The aim of the RHC project is to bring life back to historic centers by focusing on their social, cultural and economic development.
